I have recently left the hustle and bustle of London for the idyll of rural Shropshire. I am a mother, an artist, a cook – these pages will chronicle my recipes, paintings, and adventures on my farm to anyone who may be interested. I do not claim to have any bee-keeping or vegetable growing skills, or to be the best preserver or baker, but I will endeavour to learn the ways of the country, fall in line with the rhythms of the seasons and hopefully pass on a few things that I have gleaned along the way. This will be my link to the rest of the world now that I feel so very far away from it. I am fondly known as Lard – and this is my story.
